G is the VS fare bucket that Upper Class Award/Points tickets book into (P is the corresponding bucket for Premium Award bookings).

So basically there needs to be points availability in Upper Class in order to use your 'compensation' voucher, should you elect to take that instead of UK261 compo.

If I understand the previous poster correctly, although there has to be Points availability in Upper Class in order to use the voucher, it is treated like a cash ticket insofar as you're not then asked to pay additional YQ and tax charges like you would on a regular Points booking.
