I'm all for an exclusive lounge for an exclusive experience but the place is souless enough as it is without unnecessarily banning more passengers from using the space. I might think I was at the Air Koryo lounge at Pyongyang International otherwise.
What you are describing is
exactly how the lounge was pre-COVID, though. There were very few passengers during the period of the Gulf blockade and before Plats became eligible, but this also meant service was great, the wine list was incredible and I could book a 1 hour 50 connection BKK-DOH-CDG on the same A380 and guarantee time for both a shower and dinner in the lounge before needing to board. It's an airport lounge owned by a giant corporate entity in a mega airport, not a private member's club, I don't expect a 'soul' personally...
