This is something that should be reported as the denial was improper - not sure who administers the card membership in Canada or the USA, but they should be notified of this issue in Japan so they can lodge an official complaint.
When I used the visit japan website and generated the QR code, I must of mistaken put it a tourist instead of business. The immigration person said that and they didn't give me a chance to change it and told me to use the regular line instead. For the business visa category, did you need to apply separately or was that something automatic that Japan gives to vistors coming from the US for 90 days?
