If NH will interline my bag over to the JL flight, my transit will be a lot easier, but even if they do, I will still have to make my way from T2 over to T3 for the JL flight. (I know, not a huge deal.)
Probably not going to have a lot of desire to trounce around after the flight from JFK.
Suspect I'll hit the AmEx lounge and then head over the JL lounge, which stays open later.
I had a similar layover, but was 11 hours. This time instead of getting bored senseless in the lounge (which does happen after having done this several times!) I decided this time to get out of immigration and go landside and went over to Haneda Airport Gardens. It's literally a 5 minute walk as soon as you exit customs through a corridor straight in front. Lot's of eating options there, better than the lounge if Japanese food is your fancy. However, I went up to the Onsen/Spa on the 12th floor of Hotel Villa Fontaine, it's open 24 hours and it was best decision ever. I soaked in the herbal steam rooms and hot baths and after a long flight from JFK it was just what was needed. I spent about 4 hours there just chilling in the several baths they have included outdoor baths and there were other travelers there doing the same thing. Felt refreshed and totally relaxed, and then had an amazing dinner at a restaurant there before returning airside to get back to the F lounge and top off with a few glasses of Champagne. Just my $0.02. But if leaving immigration and coming back in through security is too much for you then sitting in the lounge is really your only option as food choices airside are not great.
