Would calling help? Would they charge a phone booking fee for itineraries that cannot be booked online?
The issue with this award construction looks to be that awards between EU and US do not allow for end-on-end fare combinations. You can book them as part of roundtrip or open-jaw bookings, but not something like EU-AMS/CDG-US as that is not a roundtrip/open-jaw booking (open segment must be shorter than flown segments to qualify for open-jaw). So no, going through an agent likely won't help as the prohibition is embedded in the fare rules.
Your only hope would be if routing prices out with a one-way search between origin and destination as a single award. But if there is no married segment availability for a single award, you would have to book them as separate awards.
