Booked flight through AA. Return operated by IB (DFW-MAD) in Y+. Can't access the reservation on the Iberia site through the AA site, it just links to the IB home page, the AA PNR doesn't work on the IB site. Call AA, they say there is no IB PNR in the booking, after about 30 minutes they find one and now I can pull up the reservation on IB site. It wants me to pay 90€ for a seat because my BA number is not in the record (it's in the AA PNR though). There is no option to add it on the Iberia site. Call IB, they tell me they cannot add FQTV for some reason. She gives me a different PNR that also works but does not contain FQTV. Just like the other one, there is no place to add one, nor any mention of one. Long time on hold, tells me to call AA back, it's not a problem on IB's end(?). Call AA back, surprise surprise there is nothing they can do.

My options at this point, as I see it:
1. Roll the dice and hope I can get a seat I want at checkin.
2. Pay the 90€ and then reclaim it from Iberia.
3. Drive to the airport, go to checkin desk and refuse to move until they fix it.

Anyone got a better idea?
Call IB back, keep it simple, give them the IB booking ref and "add my BA number", don't say FQTV (in your case it's actually FQTS); in RESIBER the code is
