Had a stay over the weekend and was mostly unimpressed. A few positives, but unlikely to ever stay here again.

Positives:
  • Was able to check in quite early (around 10am), which was great after a red-eye.
  • Proactively offered a 4pm late check-out
  • Bottled water and canned soda available for the taking in the lounge
  • Staff was generally responsive and helpful
  • Chilled towels and disposable earbuds available in the fitness center
Meh:
  • Food in the lounge ranged from not great to just okay, granted we had a small sample size as we only tried breakfast and the other offerings on one day. Breakfast was some basic pastries, fruit, yogurt, smoked salmon, with two hot offerings of bacon and eggs. Afternoon snacks were bags of chips and some cookies. Evening offering was a random selection of finger foods and vegetables. Food ran out quickly and though an attendant was usually present, food was not replenished quickly, if at all.

Bad:
  • Water pressure was really low in both rooms we had.
  • No room upgrade at check-in. Booked and received a base room on a low floor. A bit surprising since pretty much every hotel I stay at usually at least offers some nominal upgrade to a high floor or view room or similar. Did not think the hotel was full though there were a number of events going on during the weekend. Room upgrades are not that important to us, and so this would have been fine but for....
  • Noise - had serious issues with noise with our neighbors on both sides. Unfortunately someone decided to throw a party in their room after midnight on our second night with a dozen or so people and some thumping music. They then decided to blast some more music in the morning after they woke up. We did notify the front desk and they sent someone to quiet them down a bit, but it was still noticeable afterwards and it was far too late to try to move rooms. We had some noise issues the first night with our other neighbors (talking realllly loudly after midnight in their room which was unfortunately very audible in our room). I have lived in apartments/homes with shared walls for most of my life, so I'm used to normal levels of noise, but I think the sound insulation between rooms here is not very good.
  • After our noise issues the second night, we requested a room change the next morning and were, surprise, upgraded to the standard suite that just happened to be available as an apology. This suite was fine, though also had really low water pressure and the bed, while comfortable, made a loud creaking sound with any sort of movement.

Buckhead is a bit out of the way for what we usually do in Atlanta but I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm pretty confident we won't be back. There doesn't seem to be any great options in the Atlanta area, but much preferred our stay at the Centric in Midtown.
