in-laws are travelling to Australia and managed to get them a cracking deal on AA/QF with a routing DUB-DFW-MEL on. Through ticket in Business (not that this matters)
A couple of questions if I may
-pre clearance ex dub meaning they land technically as a “domestic” hopefully, so I guess it’s just security then through to departures ?
- Baggage, with pre clearance do they still need to collect and re check or can that be transferred through automatically ?

With pre-clearance they land as a domestic flight so they won't even have to re-clear security at DFW. They'll just get off the plane and walk to the next gate (or to the Flagship Lounge). And bags will be transferred through, they will not need to claim them again at DFW.
