A back of the envelop calculation for AC to achieve $1.5B in REVENUE from co-branded credit cards would have them taking about 30% of ALL VISA interchange that goes to the issuing banks in Canada. Seems rather extreme. How much of all VISA cards in Canada does co-branded Aeroplan cards constitute?
They don't have access to AC and Amex agreement, but they do control the merchant charge.
