sounds like it is not an uncommon problem, and there are false positiives too
There was (still is?) a glitch that would cause non-Resy restaurants to trigger the credit. It happened to me at a local pub that's not on Resy.
maybe amex is only doing something a name match, so it isnt 100% accurate and some errors do happen. e.g. restaurants names that are different from their registered company name
