Maybe its me, does AA not reprint a new BP with your new seat on it be it in FC or a different coach seat that they moved you into? I know all the other carriers I fly/flew will issue a new BP if the scanner beeps and your seat has changed for whatever reason and the GA will hand me the new BP with my new seat on it. The scanner knows if you scanned a phone or paper BP and if the seat you scanned will actually be the seat you sit in, so why didnt that GA hand me a new paper BP? As I said in a previous post, typically, yes they would. As far as why that didn't happen on your flight, who knows, but it was likely a one-off error on the part of the GA and nothing to do with anyone trying to steal your upgrade.
