I don't think you'll get the free checked bag. FAQ and terms for most AS cards state the free checked bag benefit is only valid if the passenger "has an open account at the time of travel"; these are the terms for the Atmos card but I think the old AS card uses similar language: https://www.alaskaair.com/atmosrewar...e-checked-bag?
