It was a large set of questions, but AS has a reply to a subset of them:
Will it be possible to apply upgrade certificates to award tickets? If the award tickets are booked in an eligible fare class.
wrt the upgrade certificates (changing on October 1st), will there still be a minnimum required fare class to apply a certificate? If so, will it remain N class? No changes to the minimum fare class on AS flights. When using certs on HA operated flights, the only COS restriction is no basic econ/Saver.
Will AS be publishing a new partner earn chart for 2026?We’ll have more information on partner earn charts in October.
Is there a hard date for when the program changes (e.g. earn tracks) will take affect? The website mentions, "More details will be provided later in 2026".Not yet. As we get a hard launch date defined, we’ll send another communication to members.
Will tickets booked in 2025 for travel on or after January 1st, 2026 earn based on the 2025 MP T&Cs?Tickets traveled before the launch of earn choice will earn based on the current program earn structure in effect today.
If AS cannot sell me my desired itinerary & I purchase it from the partner website now, will I earn according to the currently published unified partner chart?Yes.
How will a ticket be credited if the guest has not selected an earn track?Members who have not explicitly selected an earn track will default to the “price paid”/revenue option. We will provide ample notice and time for existing members to make a selection before we switch over to awarding points based on chosen earn method.
Are the new upgrade metrics already live (e.g. Atmos Summit card holders is listed as the third metric)?Yes.
For the distance-earn track, will class of service bonuses will remain on AS/HA booked flights, but go away for partners booked on AS.com?Class of service bonuses for travel booked via AS or HA will no longer apply in the future distance based earn method. Members that are frequently booking in the classes that award a class of service bonus may want to consider choosing the revenue option in the future.
To clarify, will the elite tier bonus multiplier be for points, status points, or both? The elite tier bonus applies to points, but not status points.
Does AS plan to publish some copy with information detailing and clarifying points and status points, at least for this initial transition from MP (miles) to Atmos (points)? Perhaps AS could: 1) further differentiate the two forms as Redeemable Points and Status Points; 2) publish example for each method purchased from AS and a partner with Main & J/F.Based on questions we have received since the 8/20 announcement, we are working on amending the site with more examples on earn under the different choices that should help provide further clarity. That additional content will be published in Oct as we bring over HawaiianMiles.
How is Million Miler accrual going to be handled? Even if a guest picks distance or revenue earn tracks, does the guest still get the 500 mile minimum towards MM status?Earn is based on distance only with no minimum miles. Notably we added award travel this year to count toward Million Miler which we had not done previously.
If I purchase a flight at a partner website for an itinerary that AS is incapable of ticketing/plating and that AS doesn't know the purchased price, will the unified earnings for flights purchased today be at the currently published partner chart? Most partner flights booked via the partner website will continue to earn based on distance, whether the member has chosen the distance or revenue earn option, since as you noted, we don’t know the purchase price. As shared above, some additional updates about the partner earn charts for trips booked partner direct will be provided in October.
This last one is less so of a question, but more of a recommendation on how AS could publish an 'earning chart' [chart details removed for brevity].Thank you for this feedback, and we’ll think through how to incorporate something like that with the October site updates and the additional earn choice examples.
