depends on the card you have. you need 1500 life status points (lsp). you earn 5 lsp per 1500miles, so 5 lsp per $1500 spend with the higher tier one or 5 lsp per $3000 spend with the lower tier one. so $450k or $900k. depending on what spend you put on the card, you lose out on around 450k points, which is maybe around $7k. not that much if you have a long time to enjoy that OWS. gets you into aa flagship lounge, so a nice perk
