If I load $50 into my Starbucks gift card for future use, I might get $50 value. But if I go to the airport bar and eat greasy bar food and drink a couple of brewskies for $50 that I otherwise wouldn’t have consumed, was that worth $50?

Fortunately the 25k Companion pass alone pretty much covers the annual fee for me, so I can stop trying to work out how to break even
Agree. It makes the math even easier and clear for me. This is an added value if it indeed is a “benefit”. I’d already be in the lounge at an AS station but the $50 credit would be used to some extent . The 25K points as well as the 100K points at 60K spend are automatics and alone net positive. The 2:1 status points makes titanium a standard achievement with no need to excessively plan, coordinate or complexity.
