I wonder what they try to do with the scanned passport - rather than having people enter data (except that you exclude typos in the camera scan).
anyway it does not prevent from uploading fake documents. In order to proceed I had to modify a photo of my passport (remove the 31st character from the first names - replace it with a "<" ) and scan the modified photo. that went well
otherwise I would have been stuck in the process.
