Holiday Inn Milan Nord-Zara (revisit)

What is your Priority Club status? Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Generally, yes. Nothing went wrong, but...

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Queen double booked and queen with extra single received. At least there was not cross trainer.

How are the rooms?
Quite plain and no sparkle. Reasonable sized desk for working, not many power sockets, closed wardrobe. A bathrobe (just the 1). I has a corner room, which is exactly the same size as a normal room.

How is the exec. lounge?
n/a

What was good and what was bad?
good

There must have been something that was good, but nothing instantly springs to mind.
<later> easy access to TV connectors
Minibar with 4 bottles of water (but not renewed in my stay)

bad
Often there are tour buses which fill the hotel making access difficult. None this week exzcept 2 corporate events which completely overwhelmed the car parks, lifts and the tiny bar. The bar was 10 deep, i didn't even bother.
There is nothing to see or nowhere to go nearby. The nearest restaurant is 15mins by foot and is often full. You need a car or run the gauntlet of the hotel restaurant not being overrun by bus or event guests.
The lifts are slow at the best of times.
Entrance/exit ramp to the car park is quite extreme.
loyalty recognition. No recognition of status on checkin (i do find it a little cheesy at other properties anyway) - maybe they don't value my loyalty....? No drink voucher at checkin and very limited choice of welcome drinks to chose from. No upgrade.
air con has limited controls and while sleeping was either too hot or too cold no matter the setting.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I paid around 100euro/night, flexible with breakfast which isn't too bad i guess. Though starting to get a little tired of the lack of facilities and their loyalty recognition. There's a Mercure a short way away, i'll give that a try next time and see how it compares.
