Is it worth it connecting in EWR for the "premium transcon" experience on the 787-10 to LAX? Never done it before but I'm taking AA F on the way back LAX-JFK I figured I could compare both airlines' best transcon products this trip.

Its the same price as flying direct on the 787-9 from IAD-LAX but I know that will just be like domestic F and none of the fauxlaris amenities. I don't mind the extra time traveling since I'll have a lie flat just figured if I'm paying the same price might as well enjoy a nicer product.
