I think we could rustle up a complete Greek tragedy in comic book form, if illustrations of BA's IT is what you're after.
As for this specific workaround, even that is glitchy, because it will randomly not give you an example hotel or car that you can then flip into a standard holiday search with the mixed classes you've selected.
Sometimes it just gives you a generic 'add a hotel' or 'add a car' where it wants you to put in dates on that same page, and then gives you it as a componentised add on to the flight - possibly still treated as a BAH package, but with no deposit options and usually at a very different price point.
