with a 11 hr layover they told me I had to claim my bags, I think if its all LX they will work with you. I had this happen also with SN and LH in all cases I was connecting the next day on UA

Also the problem is when Over nighting returning to The States, on the Outbound from The US they will hold the bag as UA tags it as such, the problem is returning when UA isnt the 1st carrier and LH,LX,SN wont tag it all the way thru and they make you claim it and recheck it the next day
