I checked in online and both my digital and print boarding passes merely have my first and middle initials (Freely I P), rather than the full first name (departing from USA). My first and last names are not abnormally long and I have never encountered this issue before on dozens of airlines. My flight information shows my name in full. I will be stopping by the check-in desk to request a normal boarding pass, as I imagine these will never make it past the TSA. Is this a common thing for AF to do? Has anyone actually been able to use these boarding passes to get past security? I know some long names do get cut off at a certain point, which is not generally a problem and certainly not what is happening here.
