As I've said before, I suspect that the (probably rather harried and harassed by then) contact misinterpreted the phrase, 'elite tier based status point multiplier' as merely asking if there would still be an elite bonus on earnings and was confirming that yes, the elite bonus percentages remain at the same levels as before, no matter what earning method you select. In the past, that has only applied to redeemable currency, not EQM, the spiritual predecessor to status points. I think it's still possible that revenue earners will be granted 'status points' for those elite bonus earnings, but I really doubt they'll do the same for distance earners. Regardless, I don't personally believe we've been given any information to be sure of anything on the topic.
