So far Rove has been growing super rapidly - obviously you guys aren't the only ones to see the value in the program.
Basically we're passing along the commission that we get from hotels straight to the users rather than capping it like other travel portals do. We're going to be working on economies of scale to turn a profit and so far so good. While there were originally plans to launch a credit card, we realized it made more sense to be card-agnostic. This has meant we've been able to avoid exclusivity issues you'll see with hotels/airlines and their co-branded partners. Basically it keeps the doors open for all kinds of transfer partners.
At this point, all purchases made on Rove code as lodging, even flights. And while hotels aren't *currently* eligible to receive benefits from elite status, you can obviously still get your airline perks.
We also have online shopping with excellent returns, including 3.2x on Visa and Mastercard gift cards (our most recent promo jumped this to 4x but has since expired).
