Yes, that's correct that NH needs to have the matching Z class seat for you them to change the entire ticket to be NH instead of UA. They should be able to confirm that over the phone for you. If not, try another agent or speak to a supervisor. It took some time for them to do it so give them your cell # in case you get disconnected. But your UA confirmation code should change to NH flight #'s once the ticket has been converted. Good luck!
