Never asked for an offer on my AA card with Barclays, but the $199 fee posted end of July. I was offered downgrade to no-fee card, downgrade back to Red $99 card, or spend $1,000+ in 90 days and get 5,000 AA miles. I opted for the miles. Not a strong offer, but did not intend to cancel the card, so why not take it, especially without seeing how Citi is going to officially handle the Silver cards. It seems logical Red will convert to Platinum Select and no-fee Aviator will convert to MileUp.
