I had a couple of night stay at this North property - and sadly after some years of not staying, it is quite clear that the quality has degraded. I booked a single room (no upgrade given even as a Diamond member).
I waited about 10 mins before I could check in as both the agent were occupied with what I noticed as difficult guests with non-stop questions - one agent even had to use a translator to communicate with a Chinese guests.
I was offered the usual - points or breakfast, I went for the points as I knew that I would not have time for breakfast.

Room in general was ok, but my room faced the back alley of the building so not the best of sight and was given the 1st floor, therefore I could hear quite some outside noise. Other than that, it was the typical HGI amenities in the room.

The main clientale these days seems to be tour groups and to a certain extend some questionable type. In general, compared to the South property - this really is the budget version of HGI - as the differences were starkly clear even from the reception area. The price difference was minimal - so I would suggest to go for the South if possible.

As usual car park is valet only. I did not use this and did street parking as I was usually late in and early out. If they do increase the price again, I would reconsider staying here. So far I do still the Puchong HGI to be a much better property - despite it showing it's age.

Cheers!
