not giftcard, but i bought a ticket from aa, and the price dropped within 24 hours, so i cancelled and rebooked. received refund about a week ago. for now, the app is still showing i have gotten the splurge credit due to the original spend that was refunded. not sure if this will be updated, but could suggest that you can book a refundable ticket or cancel within 24 hours and still receive the credits
because i rebooked, i cant be sure that the credit isnt because of the 2nd booking despite what the tracker shows. so someone might and should test this out
