Gaza: I don't think this is a BA problem.

My company's BA price on the route is £177, very similar to your own and this included tier points and miles.

When your company/travel agent negotiates a route deal with BA or BD you can choose if you want the deal to be mileage earning or not. Your company appears to have chosen non-mileage earning with BA (hence the lower cost) and mileage earning with BD (hence the higher cost).

Under the circumstances you are clearly better off (from a miles point of view) flying with BD.

But the decision was not BA's. BA try and go someway towards rewarding employees of customers with non mileage earning route deals by offering comped elite memberships and Silver cards after 30 sectors in a 12 month period (irrespective of them being mileage earning or not).
