The problem I have with the BA program is my companies route deal fares earn no tier points and minimal BA Miles. The EDI-LHR fares are similar £180 (BA) £189 (BD). Yet with BD I get are the benefits of an ordinary C class fare - double tier and mileage points. Having just emptied my account for an EDI-MAN-IAD for my wife and I, the current Double points offer on BD is building it back up again quite nicely.

Unless BA reconsider their decision not to award points on route deal fares it is unlikely I will be flying with them anytime soon. After many years of being BA Silver and Gold it looks like I'll be back to lowly Blue early next year.
