I was more surprised that I was denied, if anything else. I have all the top-level premium cards from all the major issuers, including Citi's previous one with their Prestige card, so it never dawned on me that I would be denied, especially instantly by whatever algorithm they use.
The letter will be coming this week, and I will be curious about the reason(s), as already mentioned, I don't have any of the usual "dings" that have been noted.
My letter gave three reasons two of which were identical. Yes literally point one and point three were the same. The point they mentioned twice was also wrong. I didn't bother to call in because honestly this was mostly about the SUB and not a card I was going keep. I put a ton of spend on my other Citi cards. I suspect my issue was a couple of recent applications at other banks though that wasn't listed in the letter.
