There have been several similar threads over the years here.

First thing to say is that given the mammoth carry-ons that people bring on board these days, it is VERY doubtful there will be an issue.

Having said that, the reason I try to keep my bags within the limits is that, rather than a surcharge, the airline COULD insist that you check the oversize bag.

Personally, there are usually important and / or valuable items in my carry on that I really don't want to check.

Doubtful you will have an issue, but maybe have a contingency in case you do.
