When an appareil goes tech or there's a crew issue, the people scheduling probably priortise flights to destinations that cannot easily be replaced by a partenaire or another KL flight. Given destinations in the US can easily be desserved by AF and DL, I wouldn't worry since you'll get to your destination without too much fuss, and there's no sense worrying in avance about cancellations since they're no indicative of future results.
