There were only 14 KLM flight cancellations (2%) yesterday; not an exceptional number at all.

3 departures to the US were indeed cancelled (1025 KL615 PDX; 1235 KL611 ORD; 1305 KL651 IAD) which is a little on the high side - but again, not remarkable or noteworthy.

The aircraft that was scheduled to operate the PDX flight remains in Amsterdam and is not scheduled to fly again until tomorrow evening (Buenos Aires), indicating the possibility that the aircraft went tech.
On the other hand, the aircraft that was scheduled to operate to Chicago instead operated the Quito flight, while the aircraft that was scheduled to operate to Dulles instead operated the Toronto flight.

Zeroing in on 23 August 2025 and 9 August 2025 (for which I have no data) is not going to tell you any useful information for any dates other than those two.
