I thought this property was fantastic and really enjoyed my stay. It’s very small and comes with the aspects and expectations of a boutique property. Is it perfect? No. Does it have a lot of heart and charm? Yes. Is it comfortable? Absolutely.

Here are my impressions and photos from last night’s stay:

Pros:
  • Beautiful property with peacocks wandering the grounds (scary :-))
  • Very friendly service - definitely no slowness for me
  • The room is quite pretty and does a good job with the space (though, perhaps, might not be the best for someone who wishes to work due to the lack of a real desk)
  • Bed is very comfortable - medium mattress, plush covers, very large and plush pillows
  • Shower pressure is great
  • Deep soaking tub
  • Very large and fluffy towels
  • Great welcome gift of passion fruit macarons and some sort of caramel fudge
  • Given a box of chocolates at check-out
  • No issue with late checkout - I left around 2 PM
  • Breakfast was great - yes, the continental offering is a bit much, but the food was good quality - the salmon roosterkoek from the a la carte menu was fantastic and super delicious
  • The staff wouldn’t let me walk to the mall, so they drove me the 2 blocks in an EQS - admittedly, I feel like getting out of an EQS in front of the busy mall is more of a statement than I was trying to make, but alas… - I walked back (they told me I could call them but didn’t want to bother) and was fine, even in the dark

Neutral:
  • The wood floor near the entrance and bathroom was a bit overly slick
  • Noise isolation - I was honestly impressed at how much it kept out, but yes, you can hear things from the courtyard and restaurant (not severely and not at night)
  • Upgrade potential here is low - I think I was moved to a “Pool View” - the only suite available online was the Winston Suite, which likely isn’t standard

Cons:
  • Bidet touch panel did not work
  • One of the closet doors didn’t close enough for the light-off sensor - I fixed myself with a bandage so I didn’t bother anyone at 11 PM

I would definitely come back.
