I see no value in selecting a lounge pass again at either 40 or 70 nights as the 70 night milestone will trigger at least 90 days before the end of 2025. Am I making the correct assumption here?

Yes, given that you already have a Lounge Pass valid to 31 December 2026, there is no point selecting that as a reward this year as it would also be valid to 31 December 2026. So, it is better to choose other rewards.
