When I helped my daughter move from Atlanta back to Chicago a few years ago, we spent a night at the historic Read House Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. It was walking distance from several restaurants that we were interested in; we had a wonderful dinner at Easy Bistro & Bar. The next morning, before we hit the road driving north, we visited Lookout Mountain, which I highly recommend for the views and from where you can see seven states.
