Ba16 sin-lhr

A thread I was not expecting to post on, but thanks to the upgrade fairy sprinkling her magic on my booking, I had my first flight in First for 22 years.

Menu for BA16 SIN-LHR

Pre departure champagne and nibbles.

Compressed watermelon - tastier than I was expecting.

Cream of Broccoli Soup - delicious.

Soy chicken satay - was fine, but would have liked more peanut sauce. Nasi Goreng was overpowered by fish sambal taste. Was good enough for me but won’t trouble the Hawker Market traders of Singapore. Avoid if you want a truly authentic Asian food experience.

Chocolate cake - nice and light.

Chai oat pudding - delicious.

Belgian waffles - much better than the disappointing Full English in Club on the way out.

As I’m not a regular F passenger this was a memorable experience and head and shoulders above my Club World experience on BA15. The crew were brilliant (Golden tickets to be issued) and the food ranged from good to excellent. The only real let down was landing at LHR and then waiting an hour for the luggage to arrive (vs 15 mins at SIN!). Crew members including one who looked after me in First were also kept waiting for their bags too. No Wi-Fi available either. Those issues aside, an excellent flight and I hope it doesn’t take 22 years for me to fly in First again.
