My methodology:
Export flight history from Flighty
Send CSV to an AI tool like Claude and prompt "the following is a comma separated list of flights with departure and arrival airports using airport codes. Can you please tell me how many miles each flight would be?"
It wrote a python script and then told me how many miles each segment was
I added up all Alaska and partner miles
Compare total miles to segments times 500 and choose the earn method that results in the highest number of status pointsI suppose if I wanted to add cost calculation I'd need to go through my credit card charges or email receipts and then take a stab and pricing my corporate booked travel. Edit: Totally forgot, I did calculate spend by adding up all of my 2024 Alaska Airlines plus partner spend and multiplied by five. This includes my partners spend as well and even with that, my spend would result in 30% less status points than miles. Some variables are corporate spend (not a ton) and how partner paid flights count toward spend.
Thanks - this is admirably nerdy, and I think you have a bright future at an Atmos consultant. But it also underscores my initial comment that, outside our FT hard core, the program is excessively complicated and alienating when people get locked into poor earning selections that they cannot fully comprehend.
