A word of warning... vienna airport has imaging cameras that take detailed pictures of the car exit and return. I'm not sure how much AI was involved but I got charged €280 for a tiny door dent that with manual return inspection would have been disregarded.

Has anyone else had experience of this with hertz austria? I know hertz have started doing this elsewhere. For vienna airport it looks like all car rental companies are using the same scanners. Is there any difference between rental company policies. I am growing progressively less happy with hertz and thinking of renting from different companies in the future. Are any rental companies better these days or are they all on a race to the bottom?
