I've been approved for a Red while holding a card that had been PC'd from a Red (so with the same card number, same statement date, same exact account). I misspoke a couple weeks ago and said I had been approved for a Red while holding a Red - that's not exactly true because I had already PC'd it to a Blue or White or whatever the No-AF one is - mine is white. That card went from Red to Silver to White, but always with the same card number and account info. Then I reapplied and got the Red while still holding the other. The timeline from getting the first Red to the second Red was less than two years, and I got the SUB both times.

I've had probably four or five Reds over the years - I used to wait two years between them, but clearly you don't always need to.

With Barclays it's just really hard to pin down their rules precisely. So I say, if you think you're qualified otherwise, give it a go.
