Well, many times it is just a couple of dollars and on an long SFO-BOS example the delta is just $7 -- is that for the window or is it for just one adjacent passenger. So the damages here are very, very small -- and applies to just 1-2 out of 40-50 "window" seats. As mentioned, due to 3-4 cabin configurations for each 737 it is hard to annotation at booking. Not an issue for A319 or A320 (no missing windows).

While the CoC clearly states seats / seat features are not guaranteed, I sort agree UA could try to do some highlighting but the endless number of seat variations that some might rely on gets to be a problem.
