PC your Red to a no-AF version, then apply for the Red. I don't know that it's even necessary to PC the first one - Barclays reapplication timeline rules are notoriously vague and flexible - but I would at least PC the card first (don't close it) then apply for the Red again. Worst case it gets denied and you have a new hard pull, but it's worth trying.
Also, I've found Barclays' recon line to be the most likely to approve a denied application - but be prepared to have an actual conversation about your numbers, usage, open lines of credit and how you use them, why you want this card, etc. I really appreciate the level of detail they're willing to go into to help you get the card, but you've got to be willing to have that conversation. It's taken 30 minutes or more in the past for that reconsideration conversation to go my way, but at least it's a conversation - unlike many other lenders who just read back the letter you already got or say to take it up with the credit bureau, etc etc.
