I have looked for you but have not found any list of what the shuttle bus routes actually are, or a bus tracker (or at least one that the link works). I would say
call your rental company, but that usually just routes to a call center that would not have a clue. Hopefully if you try again your search results will be better than mine. (I'm local. But if you know somebody who just returned a rental they might remember. I doubt a single bus serves all five terminals).
From the looks of this I might do Terminal D and stay on the west side. Or possibly Terminal E where nothing is happening. (Right now being the backwater terminal might be a bonus).
Sorry I don't have the full gift of prophesy, But from the map the link goes to; it looks like the very worst problem is Terminal C. Your analysis may vary.
Thanks for the traffic info. Noted many construction sites around the airport. Reason for some if not much of the delays.
I would not call the rental car center, per reason that you had indicated.
I went on DFW airport web site and still could not find the complete route for the RCC (e,g, sequence of bus stops) It does give "real time" bus movement.
