I had to read up on what Valio does. They say they have a patended process and it seems they are not just reducing lactose by enzyme, they also filter it and reduce resulting sugars to match the sugar taste of unprocessed product. It seems they also process some proteins and finalize with a heat treatment, so it is a rather processed product. I have no idea how much of a process it is but on a philosophical level I wonder at what point a natural product is still that product or when it becomes a milk-drink.

Anyway, I'd take lactose free milk over oat products any day. It was pretty petty of me to whine over slightly sweet lactose free milk when the other option offered is the all-but-neutral-tasting oat derived products.
