If that happens, a call back saying that the agent told you it wouldn't be charged will likely result in a refund, and probably a talking to for that agent about actually checking cancelation policies on reservations before making that promise.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll watch my card tonight and see what happens tomorrow. I am glad you said this may happen overnight, because if I don't see a charge by tomorrow, I'll assume I'm in the clear. If I end up calling them back tomorrow to waive any charges, I would also hope they would have the ability to reinstate the original reservation and pricing.

I got a good rate previously, and would most likely take the trip, and enjoy the stay, rather than eat a 1-night cancelation fee.
