I always assume they are trained what should be the best option for most people (i.e., going to the correct terminal or using SkyPriority when eligible), but are not made to understand which things are optional or encouraged to think critically about what might be beneficial to do differently from the customer's perspective in unique circumstances. While things like going to the lounge are not unique among those on this forum, it's realistically an outlier among passengers in general.
