I had a generally decent stay here this weekend. I booked the basic 1Q and was upgraded to a corner king.

Echoing the note above from July, there were no breakfast entree restrictions mentioned for Globs. The charge did show up on my bill, but they removed it at checkout and when I asked about it they said that is how they typically do it vs. having it come off automatically. Shrug, but, keep an eye out I guess.

The elevators were fast and I never seemed to have to wait long for one, perhaps helped by being on the 5th floor. However street noise is extremely present at that level.

The room had mildly quirky modern light switches of the type where there's a noticeable half-to-full second delay between pressing the switch and the light going on or off; even more extreme, the light in the closet by the entryway (which also contains the safe) had some ridiculous delay between flipping the switch and the light coming on, to the point where the first time I used it I just assumed the bulb in the fixture was dead, but was then surprised to come back several minutes later (without having touched any switches in the interim) to find it on. This repeated every time I turned on that light switch (but if you turn it off, that's instant, lol). Besides on/off, there are also up/down button dimmer switches for the lamp hanging over the small table by the window.

The A/C seemed a bit underpowered -- while usually I don't mind keeping it at 72, a couple times I came back after walking around in a hot afternoon etc. and wanted to bring it down to 68 for a while to help cool off faster. However even with the fan continuously on, the readout never went below 71.

None of these are dealbreakers for me, and I liked the general vibe, so I will definitely keep this in my NYC rotation, but I could understand if these and/or other things mentioned upthread keep people away.
