The *A lounge pass requires you to be on a Star Alliance member operated fight. I would be shocked if QF sells day passes to the QF First Lounge, I wouldn't be as surprised if they sell them to the OW Business Class lounge; however, based on the OP's update it doesn't sound like that is offered either.
