Crowne Plaza Harrisburg Hershey

What is your Priority Club status?

Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

It was okay and mainly what I expected based on one previous stay

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked King Room and upgraded to King Suite.

How are the rooms?

Very dated but reasonably well maintained.

How is the exec. lounge?

N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good
  • Location - Hotel is in the heart of downtown in easy walking distance of the capitol buildings and Harrisburg University where I was attending an event.
  • Proactive upgrade to King Suite
Bad
  • First room I received (which was also a King Suite), there were a few bugs (probably flies not bed bugs) and small blood stains on the sheet. I asked to swap for another room which the Front Desk Associate did without any hassle and was apologetic. He offered me a free drink or comp. breakfast for my inconvenience. I accepted the breakfast but didn't wind up using it.
  • Check-in was very slow. Front desk only had agent initially who was involved in a long phone conversation. Second agent spotted the check-in line and came out to assist. Line moved quickly after second agent came on duty.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Rate was very reasonable. In the future, unless I had a need to stay in walking distance in the downtown area, I'd likely stay elsewhere at a newer property in the suburbs. Reviews for the Hilton one block away aren't much better. Harrisburg Downtown area doesn't really have any good options.
