most travel insurance consider 24h+ delay to be "trip curtailment" with proper benefits available including hotel
i found "trip delay" less than 24hr insurance wording are subpar it may not cover hotels.
it helps to know what your coverage is as most people simply buy insurance and dont undersand the terms. in your case i wouldnt worry, they will fly you to any australian city in business and put you on domestic business partner. going from Sin to Aus even a monkey with laptop can find a seat its practically one of most serviced routes
